Parents’ Council Initiates MHSS-Safe School Program

Thursday, September 2, 2010

Bullying in the school has been a common problem not only in the Philippines but also in the whole world. The negative effects of bullying on children can be serious and may last a lifetime. As a proactive measure to make the academic environment of MHSS safe and friendly, the SAFE School Program was initiated through the initiative of Dr. Belen Dofitas, a second-year level representative and the leadership Mr. Antonio Eala, the Parents’ Council President. This program will be a collaborative effort of the school administration, teachers, parents, and students.

The program aims to develop and maintain a safe and caring school community by providing a comprehensive, school-wide framework for the prevention of bullying or any form of discrimination or harassment.

The goal is to use interventions at the levels of the student, parents, and school to ensure that all concerned are given a consistent, coordinated, and strong message that bullying will not be tolerated and that it can be prevented if everyone works together.
