December 2017
Two teams from Malayan High School of Science bagged awards during the Power Robotics Skills Competition held last September 22 at the World Trade Center, Pasay City.
Team A, composed of Rochel Patrick R. Omoyon, Gabriel Joaquin B. Siojo, and Rahjen Zyrel A. Remo, closed the gap at 4th place while Team B, with Milsten Clark Cadorniga, Emmanuel Cavalida, Josh Vincent Contawe, and Sariel Pedraza, finished strong by winning 2nd Runner Up.

True to its name as a formidable private science high school in the Philippines, Malayan High School of Science now focuses on further strengthening its curriculum in preparation for students who will pursue the STEM strand for senior high school.
Celebrating 11 years of high quality secondary education, MHSS continues its commitment to realize its vision and mission of becoming a global center of excellence for science and technology, and mathematics. Such commitment is evident as Malayans continue to bring pride to the school through winning various competitions whether it be on academics or sports.

The year 2016 will close with Malayan High School of Science Red Robins’ copping the championship in the National Collegiate Athletic Association Season 92 Juniors Basketball.
Aside from this sterling sports achievement, MHSS students also shine in the field of academics: one MHSS student represented the Philippines in an international Math competition edging out 12 participants from other countries. The school also hosted a Robotics seminar in elementary schools as an effort to let the younger students experience the future of technology.

True to its name as a science high school, MHSS opened the Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics strand of the Academic track to incoming Grade 11 students. The curriculum of the pilot batch of the senior high school will include the emerging Internet of things technology and Microsoft Office Productivity Tools While it has opened senior high school, MHSS nevertheless has sustained the tempo of its junior high school in realizing the school's vision of becoming a global center of excellence especially in the field of science and technology. Proof of this are some of MHSS students brought home the second place in the MTAP 2016 challenge. In basketball, the Red Robins are also in good shape as they battle it out to bring home the championship title in NCAA Season 92.

MHSS, now on its 10th year of offering quality scientific education to young people, prepares itself for the first batch of senior high school students in June 2016.
Two special course offerings - Internet of Things and Microsoft Office Productivity Tools - will be made available to the pilot batch of senior high school students to expose them to the emerging technologies of the day which will form part in their holistic education.

In this issue of Whizzy Updates, Malayan High School of Science celebrates for a couple of reasons. Last August, the school placed fourth in the National Achievement Test proving its caliber in the field of the sciences.
The school also lauds the excellence of its students: one who won in an international Math competition, and a team who bagged a medal in an inter-school bridge making contest.
In the field of sports, the Red Robins is keeping its winning streak with a 14-2 win-loss record in the NCAA.
The school also commends its alumni who have blossomed and were successful in their own fields, contributing to the betterment of society.
Malayan celebrates. It continues its stride toward being a global center of excellence in secondary education in the area of science and technology.

For 9 years, Malayan High School of Science has proved its authority in the field of Science and Technology education. With its outstanding students, promising curriculum, and state-of-the-art facilities, the school moves toward being a global center of excellence in secondary education.
Audrey Gabrielle Tan, a grade 7 student, for example, has had impressive feats in local and international competitions in Science and Math. Four teams of MHSS students won in a local Math competition besting over 8 schools.
This year, the school will focus on improving its robotics and multimedia arts curriculum, where technology and creativity work together. In fact, 12 MHSS robotics students won triumphant in a robotics competition sponsored by the Philippine Science High School.
Aside from academic accolades, students of Malayan Science had their share of golds in sports. The Red Robins was first-runner up in NCAA Season 90 and Myrtle Santos won as second-runner up in the Gymnastics Philippine Cup.

Malayan High School of Science has always done well in the field of science and technology. It has, through the years, carried on Mapúa’s tradition of excellence translated in successful niches in various fields of S&T education. It has pursued excellence and committed itself to forming students who are well-rounded, globally competitive, and scientific. This year, some MHSS students participated in prestigious national and international academic competitions.
MHSS also launched its Partner School program wherein the partner schools benefit from MHSS’s science and mathematics curricula development and improvement, student learning and development programs, and employee development programs.
Aside from this, MHSS has maintained achievements in sports and campus community development.

MCM is envisioned to be a school that is to globally competitive while maintaning its local relevance. This higher institution of learning will carry on with the three school's tradition of excellence.

Mapúa celebrated its 91st foundation anniversary along with the 10th anniversary of both Malayan Colleges Laguna and Malayan High School of Science. These celebrations highlighted the recent recognitions of the three schools and bolstered their commitment to further improve their systems and learning experiences for the students.
PTC-ACBET gave full accreditation to four more Mapúa’s engineering programs and the Commission on Higher Education designated Mapúa and MCL programs as centers for excellence and development.
The three schools will be offering senior high school in June 2016 with the aspiration of imparting excellent technological and scientific education to the youth and molding them to be good citizens of the country.

In this issue, Mapúa opens its doors to incomng Senior High School students for academic year 2016-2017, employing the same high-quality education at par with world standards that the Institute is known for. Mapúan researchers and professors continue to give pride to the Institute, as Dr. Dante Silva was recently conferred the title of ASEAN Engineer. Researchers from the School of Electrical, Eleclronics, and Computer Engineering take part in the DOST-funded Phil-LiDAR 2 project, further beefing up Mapua's research and development capabilities. The Schoolof Civil, Environmental, and Sanitary Engineering partners with the Intramuros Administration for a more habitable Walled City.
MCL continues to be a leader by hosting major conferences and garnering awards in various fields, with its educators being renowned in the international arena.
MHSS upholds the tradition of excellence during this year's National Achievement Test. Also, students continue to bring home accolades and various recognitions to the school with their excellent performances both in academics and extra-curricular activities.

In the second issue, Mapua asserts its position in the upcoming ASEAN integration, putting prime in its research and development efforts through the recently inaugurated Research Building. Mapua professors are also being recognized in the field of research and urban development.
MCL continues to garner awards in various fields such as IT, Engineering and Management. Its educators are also being renowned not only locally, but also internationally in their respective fields.
MHSS once again dominates local and international competitions specifically in robotics and mathematics. Also, students continue to bring home accolades and various recognitions to the school with their excellent performances both in academics and extra-curricular activities.

In the first issue, Mapua further achieves internationalization of its four engineering programs with accreditation by Philippine Technological Council. Also, the Institute rounds up six board exam No.1s after its graduates topped the recent sanitary engineering and geology board exams.
MCL has moved to strengthen its implementation of outcomes-based education with an QBE seminar series. And to develop its students' English proficiency and provide them with a competitive edge, five English professors of MCL launched the English tor the Workplace Textbook Series.
Enhancing its academic programs particularly math,science,and technology, MHSS has partnered with First Eduspec, Inc. to integrate robotics in its curricula. And as its contribution to nation building, MHSS launched its Partner School Program to academically prepare elementary students for high school education.
